Nebraska 17 – Kansas State 3

The Blackshirts kept Oklahoma from the end zone a few weeks ago. Tonight they did it again against Kansas State at home, giving Coach Bo Pelini his first North Division title.

We now face Texas in the Big12 championship game in Dallas. Not many odds makers or pundits are going to give the Huskers a chance versus the ‘Horns, but that doesn’t matter. The Blackshirts will give us the chance we need.

In the meantime, there’s a trip to Boulder and some always-ornery buffalo to attend to.

What an exciting game. The defense is truely back and can be very proud of the way they kept K. St. to just 3 points. The offense played well too. I’m glad Watson studied some of the old films and brought out the plays that worked so many years ago. One suggestion though, why not utilize the fullback as we did in the old days like when one of the Makovicas/Rathman/Schlessinger would surprise everyone with a quick-hitting run up the middle for 10 or 12 yards. Easy to block and very effective.
