The Blackshirts were on the prowl today in Manhattan, Kansas, while the offensive unit continued to roll. NU tallied 610 yards to Kansas State’s 247.

According to Lincoln Star Journal, representatives from the 2008 Brut Sun Bowl were on hand in the press box.

Although it would likely mean playing an ACC team like FSU or Miami I would like to see us beat CU and go to the Gator bowl. Huskers on New Years Day again would be pretty sweet. It’s only my oppinion but I’d consider an 8-4 NU team drawing the Sun Bowl to be a bit of a snub (the Village People are performing at half-time for chrissakes!). Alamo on the other hand might be interesting as well against Wisconsin or maybe even Iowa. It’d be particularly nice if the Alamo Bowl chose us over ND. But, again, just my oppinion.

The matchup against Iowa would indeed be interesting. Iowa who has arguably the best running back in college football (Shonn Greene) against a struggling 51st ranked rushing Nebraska Defense could get ugly(penn state is 11th and Greene still managed to rush for over 100 yds). Undoubtedly Nebraska’s offense is better than the struggling 57th ranked Iowa offense, but the question is, Does Iowa’s poor offense score more against Nebraska’s poor Defense? Or does Nebraska’s Offense find a way to punch a hole in Iowa’s solid Defense?

I don’t know. The only Hawkeye game I really watched this year was them against Iowa State, and I needed smelling salts in the third quarter to stay awake. I thinkt NU would match up pretty well Offensively, Defensively Greene would no doubt cause problems, but our run D has shown improvements over the last couple of games. Tough to say. It’d be a really interesting matchup.
