Notes:
Virginia Tech is upset by East Carolina which may rank as the big upset of weekend. Pedi-shine has found a new market at Pitt where the Dave Wannstedt-led Panthers are having their lunch handed to them by Bowling Green. My guess is that Pitt will be hearing the “not letting this program gravitate to mediocrity” speech sometime soon as Wannstedt is unlikely to keep his job after this season.

Did anyone see Coach Ekler jump over another player when Cody Glenn broke up his second pass of the day. That was AWESOME!!!!!! NU looks good at throwing the ball, but looks a little rough running the ball. All in all I am quite pleased with the effort.

Some mismatches on defense - the secondary looking confused at times - but overall a pretty solid effort thus far. The secondary is really going to need to shore up their efforts - but how about Cody Glenn; almost looks like he’s been in that position his entire career.

Cody Glenn totally rocks on that defense. I thought that Suh looked pretty good at times, and when they needed to step up, they did. The little dump pass killed them all night and so did YAK. Pretty much what I thought I was gonna see, and with keeping WMU to 5 yards rushing, I was pleasantly surprised to see that, considering our porous defense last year.

Cody Glenn played a game deserving of a blackshirt. Suh is my boy but at times he is invisible. He needs to get to that point were he commands a double team form the visiting teams game week preperations. He did seperate himself from the Guard with good hand skills which allowewd him to come off the block and make a play and he did this better than he ever has. (sign off good technique coaching) I don’t agree that they stepped up when they needed to on defense. IN WMU first 4 trips into the red zone they had 3 TD and a FG. I do feel confident that after watching the film and for that matter from postgame speech time on the coaches will be finding ways to work towards fixing on problem areas. I do no think Larry Asante has gotten any better than he was last year other than by virtue of scheme being close2plays.Missed over the top help when Glen went inside on Ledbetter’s middle stretch route in third quarter Asante was over help on this but was going toward the line, He was not blitzing and no run fake on play. The defense was in two deep or cover two on play. He filled at a bad angle in rted zone and missed tackle. Had numerous opportunities to lay the lumber on routes or tackle but made hits a kicker or punter would be ashamed of. We did only give up 5 yards rushing but it was WMU not OU and I think we all know that. I give the offense an A- and the defense a B-. we got work 2 do but am sure we will get better
