Yeah, you read me right. I am a Jets fan! I am a fan of those Jets that will take Callahan right out of Lincoln and back to where he belongs! Man, they can’t fly fast enough. According to Fox Sports, Bill Callahan has got a new gig as the offensive assistant head coach and will be mainly in charge of building a dominant line to help spur a productive running attack.
Coach Mangini on what he thinks abou the hiring:
”Bill brings valuable experience as an assistant coach and head coach on both the college and NFL levels,” Jets coach Eric Mangini said. “His expertise with the running game and with protections will be a big asset. I look forward to adding him to our staff.”
His expetise in the running game gained a little more experience this year as he watched his defense get pulverized game in and game out. Callahan could do nothing except study the offenses that were picking apart his 116th ranked rush defense and figure out how to incorporate them into his next job.
Bill Callahan, in his monotone, “I am more intelligent than you” voice, had these thoughts:
“I am excited about the opportunity to join the New York Jets,” Callahan said. “Coach Mangini has assembled a fine coaching staff and I look forward to working with them and contributing to the team.”
Yes, I too am excited!!! It seems karma and destiny are coming back full circle, and with the departure of Callahan, goes the heartache of four years past and the aura of stank. The page has been turned and I like how this chapter is starting out!

Good luck Billy C. Glad you went to a team I don’t care about. Just so long as I never see you on the sidelines in memorial stadium again…unless you are with the other team.

The problem was he was never one of us. We did not want him but accepted Pitt Pedersons decision because it was his choice. I can’t wait to see how improved NYJ running game is next year. So you have 3mil plus Id say 330-675k a year coming for the new job. I am so glad you are not unemployed anymore, I couldn’t sleep at night wondering how long that 3 million would hold him over. Since I am sure you took the job because funds were low, I will gladly buy you the ticket out of Dodge and out of the Husker state because only then will your tainted spirit finally get out of my state.
