Buffs 65 - Huskers 51.
Ganz and the offense looked great in the first half, but fell apart in the 3rd quarter.
The story of our defensive ineptitude is the same woeful tale that’s been told all season.
5-7 (2-6 in conference) is where things end.

Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty we are free at last.
And the Husker fans said, “Let that Cosgrove go.” And so it was.
I hope that TO does not wait until tomorrow to fire Callahan. Bring in Gill.
Go Huskers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gill? Sorry but that would be more of a risk than hiring Bo.

@Bugeater…
I want to thank you for not doing a live game cast, I just found out the score. Thanks for saving the frustration.

Being from western new york, Gill has done a great job with average players in good conference. I would like to see him get the opportunity with the talent and resources that Nebraska has to offer. Where is there to go but up. You know that he will put in the time to bring the team back to where it needs to be.
GO BIG RED!!!!!!!

Thid had better be the final nail in the coffin the Bill Callahan. He can crow about how his vaunted offense has scored 40 points or better in the last four games, but his wonderful friend and Defensive Coordinator has to allow 60!!!!! It is ridiculous. Bring on BO!!!!!!!!! even though they got beat by a very good Arkansas team today.

Gill may be an emotional pick but as of right now theres a legitimate risk we’ll be right here in a few years again. Gill knows football but has been a head coach for two seasons and hasnt produced a winning record. now I know he’s improved buffalo’s program, but winning a few games with a bad team in a mediocre conference doesnt justify making him the head coach of this program, regardless of his ties to it. maybe he can be the oc for the new head coach…

I would rather have Gill who has been a head coach for two years as opposed to Pellini who has coached 1 GAME.
November 24th, 2007 at 1:13 pm
well theres cons to pelini too. then you need to ask if how being a d coordinator at places like nu, ou and lsu compare to being a head coach of team in a conference like the mac (assuming the comparison is gill and pelini). the level of scrutiny and inteseity is different but job duties are different as well, and jim tressel made the jump from 1aa to ohio state. its hard to say b/c both have pros and cons with them, and how would they rank against other candidates that may arise out of all of this? in my mind the decision isnt as clear cut as many make it seem. i could also be thinking too much into it too

In 2003, Pelini’s only Husker season, the team lost 3 games. In those games his vaunted Defense gave up 41 to Missouri, 31 to Texas, and 38 at home to Kansas State that was, at the time, the worst Home loss ever. All anyone remembers is Bo getting into Bill Snyders grill for running up the score…Well then stop them Bo.
My opinion, Pelini is a bad hire.

thats a good point. i dont know his name but my buddy pointed out oregons o coordinator could be someone worth looking at. thats purely his own opinion and no speculation. i do like what oregon does offensively

@Ed
Let’s remember the offense we had that year, also. Look at those games in question and see how many yards we produced offensively. Look how many 3 and outs and time of possession. If we would have a better offense, those games would’ve been closer. I don’t blame the defense for those games. He took the same defense that lost 7 games the year before and shaved 4 games off that. I, personally, am impressed with that given our QB and RB at the time.

@Husker Brad
We will have to agree to disagree because I don’t believe Bo is the answer. Recently I’ve surfed LSU boards and they can’t wait to get rid of him. There’s too many red flags.

it’s been a difficult season for the husker nation and one that won’t soon be forgotten, especially by the likes of the ESPN so called experts. It’s time once again to come together as the greatest fans in college football, put are trust in the MAN to make a great choice for the next head coach, support his choice and rally behind OUR team.

Out of all the names thrown out there so far I have to go with Bo. Gill isn’t ready for this job and every other name floating around doesn’t understand what Husker football is all about. After the press conf. today I was listening to the radio and they were talking about how the assistant coach’s stated that they had absolutly no idea what they were getting into. They had no clue how intense Husker football really was. Bo is the only guy that’s been here and witnessed the level of football we expect. You want to bring back the intensity and face pounding football we our use to, bring back Bo.

@Forever Red
If anyone knows Husker Football it’s Turner! Why is Bo ready and Turner isn’t? Bo has coached a total of one major college fb game. Turner has coached two seasons. And turner coached under TO and learned how to run a program. I am not saying Turner should get the job, but he should over Bo.
I’ll throw out another name that has NU ties and knows about intensity, the walk on program, and tradition. In addition, he has coaching experience — Tom Rathman.

I would love it if Bo was offered the job and took it. I would be equally ( ok maybe just a little less) happy if Turner was given the reins. Whoever the choice is, I just hope it is not some coach who is like 60+. We need a young guy with some emotion who can coach for more than 10 years and still be relevant.

This is why I am for Bo. I know you don’t really care about my life but tough, your gonna have to hear a little about it to understand. I’m a carpenter, I have been now for almost 19 years. I started working summers when I was 15 years old. I’m not by any means bragging, just bringing it up to show you my view. I receive a lot of compliments now days about how good my work is and how efficiently I run a job now that I am a Foreman. When I walk on a job I do everything from framing, drywall, doors, windows, ceilings, trim, and so on, pretty much start to finish. My main point of this being, I didn’t get to be as good as I am because I have been a Foreman for a few years now. I am what I am because I spent a lot of years at a lot of different places learning new things at each place I worked. When I became the guy that ran the job I used everything I learned from all of those different places I had been, put them all together and I did a pretty good job.
My gut feeling is that Bo has been around the block more then Turner has. He started at Iowa, went to the 49ers, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and LSU. Your are right in that Bo has never been the head man, but you have got to beleive that he has accumulated a lot of knowledge on what it takes to run a successful program. All of those programs are pretty top tier programs to work for. That resume put’s Bob Stoops to shame. I guess my opinion has come from what I beleive makes a great leader. If I had to hire a guy to come work beside me and my job depended on how well he performed, I would without a doubt choose the man that know’s how to do a lot of things good over a man that can do one thing great. I beleive that Bo has seen more and done more in his career then Tuner has.
On a final note, I will without a doubt, still be a huge Husker fan no matter who comes into that lead posistion. Hell, i’m gonna do everything I can to try and get people to the spring game and hopefully get it sold out!
It’s getting late, hopefully that makes some form of sense Ed.
