BC wasn’t going to make his players available to the press this week, but I guess an exception can be made for the California Kid. I mean he is hurt, and Public Television isn’t really “the press.”

According to Lincoln Journal Star, Sam Keller spoke quite highly of the coaches as a guest on NET’s “Big Red Wrap-Up” on Tuesday.
“I came here and I do things good, but I had to learn that system. Joey is a master at that system, a complete master,” Keller said. “He showed you what this offense is capable of. He shows you how good of a coach (Bill) Callahan is and how hard him and (offensive coordinator Shawn) Watson work to put together these game plans.
“He cares so much,” Keller said. “The way I see Coach Callahan, I have so much respect for him, and what he does and how hard he works, and the opportunity that he extended to me to come play for him.
“He’s made me a better quarterback, and I think for that matter, a better person. Because I think sometimes they go hand-in-hand, honest to God.”
It’s well known that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Good coaching, on the other hand, is not. That’s not to say BC isn’t a good mentor to his QBs. But, there’s mounting evidence his positive influence falls off sharply when it comes to everyone else.

Well Big Red network has come out in favor of keeping Callahan so shows what I know.
Anyway I want to hear a player defend his coach even if we know it’s BC and he probably does to. I don’t care how bad it gets I don’t want to hear a player trash his coach while he is still playing. There’ll be plenty of that in a year or 2.

Yea, I made one commit over there and I thought the hand of God himself was going to stike down and kill me for talking about Callahan being disrespectful to Ganz. That’s fine, they can keep thier Better then thou board. It’s not as informative as this one anyway.

I heard today from a source, this guy knew that Steve P was getting fired long before anybody was talking about it, I just didn’t beleive him. He said that there is at least, if not more, a 50% chance that the Coz is the only guy that will be gone after the CU game. Then I hear on 1620 the Zone the TO released a statement today making it very clear that he has not made a final decision about the head coaching job and will not until he has a meeting with the coachs on Nov 24. And then……..I threw up on my keyboard a little when I see that everybody on BRN is hoping that Bill stays, They feel that as fans we will be cheated if he get’s fired! If it was just about his record on the field I could maybe see this happening, but to me it is so much more. I don’t want to see Husker fans divided either but I can’t forgive the guy for things he has said about us as fans and the blame he has placed on his players. Please tell me it ain’t so Tom!

I don’t think you need to worry. I seriously doubt he will be staying. There are more problems with this team than just defensive coordinator and those will come out soon enough.
Not to mention the outrage people will have if nothing changes with Callahan. It is one thing to have a vocal minority against him (as has been the case for the last couple of years), but when it has spilled over to the majority of Husker fans, and then to the national media, you have a situation in need of change.

Thanksgiving can’t get here soon enough! It’s like when your parent’s put that huge present under the tree 2 weeks before Christmas.
November 15th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
I hope Callahan goes, but what if Tom keeps him…WOW this board and many others may catch on fire from all the postings!
November 15th, 2007 at 6:38 pm
yeah, except my x-mas present was an ass whipping and a carton of smokes, “smoke up Johnny!”

@Husker Brad -
Anything is possible now. I never imagined a Husker Football site would cross paths with a Breakfast Club reference.
Worlds are colliding.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
What next Sporto? We gonna duct tape Mr. Callahan’s butt cheeks together!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
No, I am gonna date that weird chick with all the eye liner on. Or maybe the popular girl, or maybe I will kick the crap out of Mr. Vernon…right after I get done with my 1000 word essay, of course.

A new title to this website?
HUSKER ZONE ( AND STUFF )
November 15th, 2007 at 9:19 pm
Now, back to my regularly scheduled football broadcast! In all seriousness
Callahan had every opportunity to brace the Husker tradition and yet never has. Even after Osborne was hired, I figured the guy could save his job if he realized how important football is to this state. Sadly (3 million of them!) he just has never got it about why husker football is so damn important. He never will. So, I say ADIOS BENDAJO!
Bet you thought this wouldn’t turn into a spanish speaking only Husker site TOO!!

Maybe you have found a weird connection here! You have Claire, the spoiled princess, she skipped school. AKA Mr. Callahan, He also skipped coaching school. Then you have Allison, the misfit, she was in detention just because she had nothing better to do. AKA Mr. Cosgrove, He is a defensive Cordinator just because he has nothing better to do. Then come’s Brian “the brain”, he was caught bringing a flare gun to school (in a parasuicidal gesture) that accidentally discharged in his locker, causing minor property damage. AKA Mr. Peterson, he brought in Mr. Callahan who ended up being suicidal for Steve and it most definatly discharged in his foot causing major property damage throughout the state!

Dude, I just discharged in my pants I was laughing so hard!!! Ok that was gross!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
I would like to take this time to appologize to the fine people of HuskerZone. I told you it would seem like forever until Thanksgiving. Sometimes a guy just needs a little laughter in his life.
I would also like to appologize to the next person to sit in Brad’s chair.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
If you are going to APOLOGIZE, at least do it with spell check

@ Administrator or Bugeater
I dont know which one of you posted the thing about the myspace page in support of Bo Pelini but if you visit the page you will see two familiar faces that are friends with it. #19 Quentin Castille and #24 Niles Paul are both friends with that myspace page. Seeing that, I got the impression that they both want Bo to coach them. That also means they want Callahan out. Haha, figures.
November 19th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
Good catch, Pete. Here’s the MySpace page in question: http://www.myspace.com/hardcornhusker
