Aw man, I just noticed you put Bo Pelini is the kind of coach the Big 12 needs. I see you ommitted the word “HEAD” from this sentence. You are CLEVER!!!
C’mon Bugeater, admit it! You want BO PELINI!!

    @Inside Scoop -

How reliable are your sources? Names aren’t necessary unless you want to disclose, but what are their ties to the university (boosters, administation, etc.)?

Shoot me an email (linked on the homepage) if you’d prefer.

Sources at Duncan Aviation confirmed that he arrived and left within a few hours on a private jet (most likely a booster’s jet).

Other sources close to the athletic department confirmed that Carl Pelini was there on Friday. He’s obviously not as high profile as Bo is at the moment.

Other sources checked flight logs, as well, to confirm that Bo was in Lincoln.

The following names have been thrown out as possibilities to join the staff: Mike Stoops, Marvin Sanders, Tom Rathman, Bailey, Doak Ostergard, Paul Miles, and Paul Meyers. (The last 5 names are very likely going to join the staff for next year.)

    @ Husker Brad -

I didn’t mean to leave the word “head” off. My bad.

Man I hope this is true!!! We only have 4 short weeks to go!!! I do think it is funny that Simi Kuli has committed to Nebraska, knowing his coaches that recruited him are going to be fired. He did visit LSU prior to coming to Nebraska to visit. According to the LSU Rivals, the three players from his JUCO all talked about signing with LSU together as a package deal. It makes you wonder why he would do that? Maybe Bo whispered in his ear? Who knows?

This is an article written on Lincoln Journal Star’s Husker Extra from 11-12-2004.

Bo Pelini, who led the Nebraska defense’s resurgence in 2003, has said he hopes to someday become a head coach. If he does land a head coaching job, Pelini said, he’d hire Sanders “in a second.”

“Marvin’s detailed, smart, works well with the players,” Pelini said in an Oct. 31 interview. “He’s really the whole package. I think he’s a rising star in the profession.”

Well, there you have it. He is definitely in!

I can’t give any names of sources; but this is absolutely positive. You’re going to have to trust me on this one. TO isn’t going to announce a new coach in less than a month without having interviewed some coaches.

Out of TO’s mouth (not exact, but this is what he said): TO said he’s not looking for someone like him, or even his coaching style. He said Bo Pelini reminds him a lot of Bob Devaney (with his fire and getting kids to give everything for him on the field).

Says a lot about Bo; coming from TO himself.

It only makes sense. Bo and his wife LOVE Lincoln and love Nebraska. If someone is going to be successful in a program; they have to believe in it and everything it stands for.

Is he the best choice? Who knows? He wants to be here and he wants to win. I don’t see Bo, as a coach, to be loyal to one of his staff members that isn’t perfoming well; or doing his job. (ie: Cosgrove/Callahan Union)

    @ Husker Brad:

I thought the exact same thing. Simi Kuli probably commited because he knows Bo will be coaching him. Wow, I thought I was crazy for thinking that but I guess not!
