Nick Benes, a senior at Wayne State College and the editor-in-chief of the college newspaper, “The Wayne Stater” wants to give Loserhan a chance.
In this Bleacher Report post, Benes asks that fans remember how BC managed a comeback two seasons ago.
Nebraska was 5-5 and reeling, with many people questioning Callahan before Kansas State came to Lincoln in November.
Jordan Congdon made a 45-yard FG with less than a minute left to give the Huskers a come-from-behind 27-25 win.
Their next game—the day after Thanksgiving—Nebraska blasted Colorado 30-3 (prompting Gary Barnett’s firing) and the players showed their “Restore the Order” shirts underneath their pads.
Then came the big one: Nebraska, down 28-17 early in the fourth quarter, came from behind to beat Michigan in the Alamo Bowl 32-28.
We are good people. But this is business, and Callahan is poison. It’s not about his record any longer, it’s bigger than that. Much bigger.

For the first time in my life I agree with everybody on ESPN. They all seem to be saying that Nebraska needs to get rid of him now and not wait until January. Lou believes that we should get rid of him so any coach that might be interested in the job will know it’s going to be there at the end of the season. He also states that this will be better for the kids that are here and the recruits we are looking at. We need to try and let then know who is going to be here for next season before January. I 100% agree with this. Isn’t that how we got stuck with Callahan? We waited til the first of the year and ended up with Steve 7th or 8th choice? I hope the players can prove me wrong but I still think this season is done. Why would you go out and give your all for a coach that keeps blaming you for the problems in his press conferences?

On a positive note, I am going to the game!!! I just heard on Sports Talk Nightly that my man RICKY T. will be getting more than his share of time at safety!!!! They also said to expect more younger guys on the field!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! Blake “el relámpago blanco” should also see the field. I then assume we will also see LaTravis Washington. SWEEEEET!!!! Although, they are still using the same crappy ol’ gameplan. Damn, now I am mad again!!!

I have a feeling that the coaches are on their way out… (We ALL know that!) I ask one thing of my fellow Husker fans for the rest of the season. Wear RED, BE LOUD… Support the players. Don’t BOO the players - they ‘Play for NEBRASKA’… That’s us! That’s ‘Husker Nation’. I get it, you get it, everyone gets it… The coaches aren’t doing their job. Second guessing, and constant criticism, of the coaches will not help the players. How can you play for a coaching staff that the fans are constantly criticizing? Where’s the motivation in that? Where’s the motivation in getting BOO’d? ‘I wear red & cheer loud for Nebraska’!

Whatever anyone thinks of BC, his time in Lincoln is done. He can help us win every game remaining and he’s still calling the movers come January. You don’t reform a guy like this. He’s better than us, remember? He knows more about football than we do and he also has stimulating interests outside the game. Lucky for him (and us), he’ll soon have plenty of time to pursue them.

It would be cool if you just had somebody paint that wallpaper on your chest! If that isn’t showing support for the players then I don’t know what is. But wait until it is a televised game.
