Great running game! Weren’t we supposed to be the ones with the WCO??? Our roots have always been in the running game so I liked what we did Saturday. Establish the running game and the pass will always open up.

Also, I felt they were giving Keller a pass until Purify is back with us. As Nevada was without their stellar linebacker, Bill did it right by taking it to them. I doubt whether Lucky can keep up that pace throughout the season though, but he definitely had a great day.. Kudos Lucky.

Hope you all had a great time at the game.

Great time at the game last Saturday indeed, Fred! It’s a very good sign that the Huskers dominated so completely against a reasonably-talented opening day opponent. As you and others have pointed out since the summer, big pivotal game coming up at WF this Saturday. Did I see somewhere that the Demon Deacons will be without their starting QB? We could dominate again and roll back into Lincoln with 2 one-sided wins and plenty of momentum for USC!

@Art – Wake Forest will indeed be without their starting QB who is out for 3-6 weeks with a separated shoulder.

I liked that Callahan actually made changes to the play calling when it was obvious they were dominating at the line. Keller looked pretty sharp, but obviously looked like a caged beast waiting to explode – you saw that especially on some of the deep balls he threw.

I think you’ll see about the same at Wake, keep the play calling rather vanilla and dominate with the physical mis-matches. You may see a few more passes to just to make sure all the receivers are firing on all cylinders, then keep things in check for USC.

This week’s game should see a similar result. Boston College pretty much did as they pleased the whole game from the little bit I’ve watched so far. I hope to finish it up tonight.

I agree with all of you. We played great and looked somewhat like the old Nebraska. I am excited for next week and I expect a victory at Wake. As Administrator has pointed out, they will be without Riley Skinner due to injury. The only good thing they have going for them right now is defense. If we dominate the line as well as we did against Nevada then it should be an easy victory. Go Huskers!
