Well administrator, I'm not sure what you're trying to say. It sounds likie you're saying Sam Keller is a very good quarterback and that it will surprise most fans. But that is why I am confused. Every fan I know thinks that he will be an incredible quarterback. If you could post another blog to clear my confusion, I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry, I'm just a little confused.

Skill and talent wise, I think Sam Keller will surprise many a Husker fan this coming season. He was in a bad situation at ASU that wasn't all his fault - evidenced by the train wreck that the Sun Devil's season became.

My brother, who until recently was a sports writer covering div. 1 football on the west coast, thinks the biggest knock Husker fans will have on him is that he probably only has half the charisma that Zac Taylor has.

Barring injury, Keller will be most likely a first/second round draft pick in 2008. That alone should give Husker fans a bit of optimism.

Good blog pete. I think I understand where you are coming from a little better now. You make perfect sense and optimism is always a good thing. Sometimes we have a tendency to expect too much from some of these new folks so we have to be a little cautious.

One last thing BigFredRed, Sam was only demoted because his teamates thought he was "too mean", not because the other guy was better. In fact the other guy was worse. Rudy Carpenter (sams replacement) put up worse numbers than Sam did in 2005, and he also has less experience. I'm sure our players can take it if Sam is " a little mean". I'm sure our players arent a bunch of little girls

Like I said...hopeful! Hopeful doesnt mean I have complete trust in the guy...And if I were you I would have a little optomism. He was a potential Heisman canidate before his Senior season. He has an NFL-caliber arm. He is a good quarterback, you cant deny that the kid has talent. And HOPEFULLY, it will show up this season at NU.

...And Beck is a VERY good QB. I think he's a baby because he left for being low on the depth-chart. But do you know why he was low on the depth-chart...he was injured!!! I think someone as good a player as he is who quits after being placed low on the depth-chart because on injury and lack of college experience is a baby. I agree with you...All these Husker fans are a little bit to trusting in Sam Keller, but at least be optomistic. That is also just my opinion

Wow, Sam Keller was demoted to second string QB for a major college who finished out of the top 25 last year. He will be playing for NU as a Senior this year, so not sure where you are getting your optimism?? Sounds like they are promoting him with some good numbers but that can be misleading if you investigate further.

Not sure why the good folks of Nebraska, can think a young man by the name of Harrison Beck can 'walk on water' so to speak , then , when fate takes this man a different direction, the guy is a baby, or , say that he was not that good anyway.

Maybe we should all just calm down and stop drinking the snake oil being sold to us? Recruiting is not going to be the 'end all, cure all' for Nebraska. It never was. The whole rivals.com thing is not science and is more of a popularity contest than anything. A good coach knows what he needs for his program and could care less how rivals.com rates someone in florida or california from an affluent family.

IT must be a program of vested coaches with strong values and principles, who will lead our young men into the Husker program. It must be a program grounded in hardwork and sound ethics. I think we are currently way off base, but , that is just my opinion.
