By now, you may have heard that Jay Norvell left the Nebraska coaching staff to become UCLA’s new offensive coordinator. What you may not have heard is the bloatosphere’s retorts.

Here’s what Dirty Laundry has to say:

Jay Norvell is leaving Nebraska so he can “call plays” for UCLA. So you’re telling me he didn’t do that at NU? That Billy C was the crafty fella doing all that trickery? Is that what you’re trying to say, that Callahan’s a bit, oh, controlling? He holds that thick ass playbook like Linus holds his blanket. I’m surprised he doesn’t suck his thumb during a few plays.

Here’s what Husker Mike has to say:

Sorry to see you go. I understand why you left, as the opportunity to be a real offensive coordinator (not just one in name only) is the next step on the road to becoming a head coach. But this one hurts Nebraska… a lot. I’ve felt that Norvell was the best coach on the staff for some time now. One of the best minds and one of the best people as well.

There is also speculation that defensive coordinator, Kevin Cosgrove, is being sought by the Minnesota Vikings. Cosgrove denies it.
