According to Omaha World Herald, Husker and Sooner fans visiting KC for tomorrow night’s big game are expected to pump an estimated $20 million into the metro area. The paper estimates 60,000 Husker fans will converge on Arrowhead Stadium.

Nebraska fans are known for flocking to big away games such as the 1996 Fiesta Bowl and the 2002 Rose Bowl. But a big draw of Saturday’s game is that it requires only $50 to $80 for a game ticket, not a plane ticket.

In related news, Nebraska will be playing on New Year’s Day, no matter what happens in KC. The winner of Saturday’s Big 12 Championship Game will earn the conference’s automatic bid into the Bowl Championship Series and a trip to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. The Big 12 Conference runner-up will participate in the 71st Cotton Bowl Classic on Jan. 1 in Dallas.
