Nebraska v. Texas A&M Set for ABC at 2:30
ABC has finalized the start time for the November 11th Nebraska game at Texas A&M. ABC’s broadcast will begin at 2:30 pm Central time with kickoff scheduled for 2:05.
For a teaser preview, with Texas A&M coming off a tough loss to Oklahoma, I like Nebraska’s chances if they can somehow manage to put together 4 quarters of the way they played in the first quarter of Saturday’s win v. Missouri. Given the fact Oklahoma managed to put up 244 rushing yards against the Aggies, my layman viewpoint if I were the offensive coordinator would be to run the ball all day long. Texas A&M on the other hand put up 252 rush yards against Oklahoma with only 63 passing yards. If I were the defensive coordinator, I think my concentration would be to protect against the run.
But then again. I don’t get paid to game-plan. Debate continues to rage as to whether or not anyone else is either…

Huskers back in the USA Today Top 25
Nebraska occupied the #25 spot in today’s USA Today poll. And the only 3-loss team in the Top 25.
Based on voting tallies, Nebraska technically ranks #26 in the AP poll behind 9-2 BYU (who is absent from the USA Today Poll).

Alumni In The House
It’s homecoming in Lincoln today. Last year, Nebraska lost to Texas Tech on homecoming, breaking a 36-year string of homecoming victories.
As StatePaper.com points out:
The stomach-turning thing for Nebraska fans this year is the obvious fact that nothing, absolutely nothing, is guaranteed. There is not, and has not been, a single game in which Husker fans could reasonably feel that “everything will be fine.”
[UPDATE] Well allright, 27-6 at the half (against a team that’s been playing us tough for several consecutive years) is more like it!

The Truth Hurts
Vahe Gregorian of the St.Louis Post-Dispatch takes us on a lovely stroll down memory lane…
For nearly 30 years, Nebraska football was a fearsome benchmark for excellence in college football.
Fashioned on punishing defense, a rugged running game, a fabled walk-on program and remarkable continuity on the coaching staff, the Cornhuskers won five national titles and never lost as many as four games in a season from 1969 to 1997.
Then the ugly facts come crashing in. Like this: Nebraska has not won the Big 12 North since 1999.
