Joseph Duarte of the Hoston Chronicle reminds readers in south Texas (and elsewhere thanks to the internets) that Nebraska hasn’t beaten a top-10 foe since Oklahoma in 2001.

It’s not every day a program as rich in tradition as Nebraska is in search of attention or validation. But the once-proud program, which became only the fourth Division I program to reach 800 wins last weekend, is only two years removed from a losing season and hasn’t won a conference title since 1999.

In other words, we need a big win on Saturday. Kicking the buffs’ butts last season was sweet. Beating Michigan in our bowl game was incredibly satisfying. But beating Texas on Saturday would far surpass either of these wins from last year.
