Nebraska 49 - Louisiana Tech 10
They looked solid.
After getting the first-game jitters out of their system, there was no stopping the Big Red Machine. Nebraska amassed 584 yards, 252 of which were on the ground.
The defense was stellar and outside of “the catch,” a 39 yard one-handed touchdown catch by LaTech’s Johnathan Holland, the Blackshirts had their way with the Bulldogs the entire game.
The real test is in 2 weeks.

Unlike years past under the Callahan regime the Huskers not only looked solid but dominant in their openining game. The thing that baffled my mind was how open the La Tech receivers were the entire game. They should have fired their secondary coach staff after the game. You can bet that Mr. Taylor is not going to see open receivers like that again. However, a win is a win and after seeing other big programs struggle over the weekend with cupcakes ala UAB/Oklahoma as a Husker fan you have to feel pretty good about Saturdays win.
